Gunned down by Pompey

 

Arsenal were dealt a massive blow as they lost too Portsmouth 2-0, The Gunners couldn’t get out of second gear as Todorov put Pompey 1-0 after 41mins,

Despite a hard fought match Portsmouth earned the victory and put Arsenal too shame, Matt Taylor’s 88 minute strike made sure the points were in the bag and the home fans could not believe their eyes.

 

United’s Portugese hell

 

Manchester United’s opening Champions League game went pear shaped as they went down 3-2 to Portugese side FC Porto, Valente’s 83rd minute strike for the home side summed up United’s away trip, it was not the best start and with AC Milan being their next opponents United have got their work cut out.

 

Chelsea meanwhile were held 2-2 in a game which looked secure for the home side Ajax, a shaky first 20 mins saw Chelsea 2-1 down, but they fought hard to earn the draw away from home.

 

Arsenal battled to a 2-1 home win against Lazio, Van-Persie netted 2 goals to give the Gunners the 3 points, a sign of relief for Arsenal who are struggling to get results right now.

 

Anelka could be on way out

 

Want-away striker Anelka plans to leave Man City very soon, 3 clubs are now in the race to sign the French star,

Anderlecht – Lens and Paris SG are hoping to land Anelka for a fee of around £7 million,

The Man City manager is said to be on the look out for a quick replacement.
